Installation Guide for Internet Explorer (Windows)

Before you can use the Virtual Lab, you will need to download and install a piece of software (Citrix Client Application) and add the virtual lab site to Internet Explorer. You will only need to do this the first time you access the Virtual Lab. This is a per computer installation. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Virtual Lab web site at http://huskynet.stcloudstate.edu/computers/virtuallab/ and click the link "Download the Virtual Lab Client". If the link does not appear, you might already have the client installed, skip to Step 6.

  2. Choose Run from the File Download screen. You may also choose to Save it to your hard drive and run the program from wherever you save it.

  3. Choose Run on the Internet Explorer - Security Warning screen.

  4. The installer will begin, this may take a few minutes.

  5. The installation of the client software is now complete, choose Finish.

  6. Open Internet Explorer and choose Tools from the toolbar then select Internet Options.

  7. Pick the Security tab at the top of the screen, then click on Trusted Sites , and click the Sites button.

  8. Type "https://vlab.stcloudstate.edu" into the text box, double check the address, making sure to include the 's' on 'https://'. Then choose the Add button, followed by Close.

  9. Choose OK on the Trusted Sites window and then OK on the Internet Options window.
  10. Close Internet Explorer and return to http://huskynet.stcloudstate.edu/computers/virtuallab/. The setup is now complete.
