Shoestring Film Fest 2009

The Shoestring Film Fest is a contest where SCSU students can submit their own short film creation, made using a digital video camera and Apple iMovie software. The short film can be about anything the students choose. Some suggestions include:

  • Curricular Integration (integrating a video into course work)
  • Technology “How-to” videos (example: how to prevent viruses, how to keep your password secure, etc)
  • What do you like best about SCSU?

Details about the Shoestring Film Fest 2009

Entry Submission Deadline:
SCSU Computer Store

Main Event (public screening & judging):
Miller Center Auditorium

March 9, 2009 (4pm)
 

March 19, 2009 (5pm)
 

Contest entry is free and open to all SCSU and St. Cloud Technical College students (faculty & staff may enter, but are not eligible for prizes). Prizes will be awarded to early submitters, winners of the contest and members of the audience at the public screening to take place 5 p.m. March 19 in the Miller Center auditorium.

Filmmakers:
 Entries must be submitted to the Computer Store by 4 p.m. March 9. Contest winners will be determined by a panel of judges.

Film Fest Audience:
Pick up a VIP voucher at the Computer Store prior to noon on March 19, to be eligible to win one of three iPod Shuffles at the final screening. The audience will vote to determine the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
