SCSU Dial-up Access for Faculty and Staff

Requirements

  • Be a current faculty or staff member at SCSU
  • Have a valid HuskyNetID and password
  • Have a working modem installed in your computer.

Instructions

  1. In the lower right corner of your screen, near the time, you should see the network notification icon. Right-click on it and select Network and Sharing Center.

  2. In the Network and Sharing Center, on the left side under Tasks, click on Setup a connection or network.

  3. In the window that opens, choose Setup a dial-up connection. and click Next.

  4. Enter the dial-up access phone number for your area. The following areas are available:
    From Phone #
    St. Cloud (320) 258-3999
    Brainerd (218) 822-3999
    Duluth (218) 740-3999
    Grand Rapids (218) 501-3999
    Hibbing (218) 421-3999
    Virginia (218) 337-3999
    Golden Valley (763) 450-3999
    Eagan (651) 289-3999

    For a username and passowrd, enter your HuskyNetID and password. You can choose to remember the password. Give the connection a name, such as "SCSU".

  5. Click Connect. If everything is plugged in and configured correctly you should connect to the Internet. To connect in the future, click on the Start Menu, choose Connect to, and select the name of your dialup connection.
