Wireless Configuration with WPA

for Windows Mobile 5 & 6 SmartPhone

Requirements

In order to configure for and use wireless services provided by SCSU, you must:

  • Be on campus
  • Be a current student, faculty, or staff member
  • Have a valid HuskyNetID and password
  • Have a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device.
  • Have a built-in or installed wireless adapter.

Configuration Instructions

Note: The instructions provided below are for a Windows Mobile 6 smartphone. Depending on your device type and Windows Mobile version, the instructions may vary.

  1. From the Start Menu, navigate to the Communication Manager and enable Wi-Fi. You may see a message about viewing a list of available Wi-Fi networks. Click on No.

  2. Click on the Settings menu and select Wi-Fi

  3. From the Wi-Fi Settings screen, choose Wi-Fi Networks.
  4. You should now see a list of available wireless networks. Highlight HuskyNet Wireless WPA and click Connect.

  5. Make sure the Network type is set to Internet and click Next.
  6. For Authentication choose WPA and for Data encryption choose TKIP, then click Next.

  7. Make sure the checkbox for Use IEEE 802.1x network access control is checked. Set the EAP type to PEAP. Click Next.

  8. Enter your HuskyNetID, password, and STCLOUDSTATE for the domain.

If these settings are configured correctly you should connect automatically to the HuskyNet Wireless WPA network.
