Wireless Configuration with WPA

for Windows Vista

Follow these instructions to configure your laptop for use on the SCSU wireless network via WPA (Wireless Protected Access.)

Requirements

In order to configure for and use wireless services provided by SCSU, you must:

  • Be on campus
  • Be a current student, faculty, or staff member
  • Have a valid HuskyNetID and password
  • Have a built-in or installed wireless adapter in your computer.
    Note: Most newer wireless adapters should work; however, not all are guaranteed to work with this method.

Configuration Instructions

  1. In the lower right corner of your screen, near the time, you should see the network notification icon. Right-click on it and select Connect to a network.

  2. In the window that opens, you should see a list of available wireless networks. Select HuskyNet Wireless WPA and click Connect.

  3. You will be asked for additional information. Select Enter/select additional log on information .
  4. You will be prompted for your username, password, and domain. Enter you HuskyNetID, password, and the domain is STCLOUDSTATE. Click OK.

  5. You may be prompted to Validate Server Certificate. Select OK.

  6. Once successfully connected, you will be prompted to Save this network and Start this connection automatically. Make sure both of those options are checked and click Close.

If these settings are configured correctly you should connect automatically to the HuskyNet Wireless WPA network.
