St. Cloud State University offers a full spectrum of technology education, support, services, resources and infrastructure systems. The departments and sites listed here fulfill a variety of missions, all of which help keep SCSU and its students, faculty and staff on the leading edge of technology.

Service areas

Center for Information Systems (CfIS)

Provides technology and software training, computer hardware and software technical support, telephone and voice mail services, test scoring services and information technology support in the areas of programming and reporting for university information systems.

Information Technology Services (ITS)

The Information Systems (IS) area of ITS designs, installs and fixes campus computer networks, maintains computer servers, develops and maintains databases and services high-tech equipment in the Miller Center. As another part of ITS, the Technology Support Services (TSS) area provides technical support and help in colleges and service desks throughout the Miller Center and labs on campus. This area also coordinates general access labs, provides technical support in academic colleges and includes:

  • Computer Store
    Offers computers, printers, software, iPods, digital cameras and other technology products, sold at educational discount prices.
  • HelpDesk
    The technology support center for SCSU students, faculty and staff.
  • ResNet
    SCSU’s residence hall network.

Instructional Technologies & Infrastructure Services (ITIS)

Designs, equips, and maintains smart classrooms and conference rooms; installs campus telecommunications infrastructure wiring; assists faculty in development of multimedia course materials; builds and maintains the campus Web environment;  plans, directs, and produces teaching and promotional videos; operates and maintains the Central Minnesota Distance Learning Network (CMDLN); and maintains Audio Visual systems campus wide.

The administrative organization that provides library and information services, academic computing and technology support, and technology-related instructional services.

Teaching, Learning, Technology Roundtable (TLTR)

Brings together students, faculty, staff and administrators to share information, coordinate technology plans and advise the university’s leadership.
