General Information

The Student Technology Fee is a component of student tuition that is used to provide technology-oriented resources to SCSU students.

This fee has been around for several years but more recently MnSCU (Minnesota State colleges and Universities) has standardized the use of the technology fee. These standards are as follows: Colleges and universities may develop a policy to charge a fee to all students for the acquisition, upgrading and/or maintenance of technology for academic and student support activities.

This fee shall not be used for providing computer access to institutional employees. The revenue from the fee shall be used according to plans developed annually by a campus technology committee and recommended to the college or university president. Increases in this fee must be approved by an affirmative vote of the campus student association. The maximum amount of this fee shall be determined by the board.

These web pages are intended to explain where your dollars go and how they are used. To learn more about the Student Technology Fee Committee, follow the links to the right.
