Course Files is a service of HuskyNet that provides network file space for courses at SCSU. A separate folder is provided for each section of a class. It is intended to allow students to electronically store files related to a course such as project/group work or assignments.

Step 1:

Locate “My Computer” from the Start menu. Double click on CourseFiles.

NOTE:
When working in a document you can go to Save As.. and place it in your Course Files folder.

Step 2:

Locate the current semester folder.  Double click the folder.

Step 3:

Find the instructor’s name for the course.  Double click on the appropriate folder.

Step 4:

Find the correct section for the class that you are registered.  (Note- Instructors may have more than one section of a course or more courses)

Step 5:

Inside each class folder are two special folders. See notes below.

Special Notes:

AssignmentDropbox: This folder is designed to electronically hand in assignments.  Students cannot view what is in the folder, but can copy files/folders into it..

Best practice: Check with your instructor as he or she may have a standard file and folder naming scheme for your course.

(Duplicate file names will overwrite others)

CourseInfo: This is a folder that students have read only access permissions and is a place where the instructor can place course information such as a syllabus, assignments, and assignment data sets.

Keep in mind:

Instructors can utilize the Course Files area in many ways by creating group or project folders or creating individual folders.

Outside of the special folders, students and the instructor have the ability to create folders and add, modify and delete files. This can also be an areas where group folders are created by the instructor for doing projects and other group work.
