Configuring HuskyNet E-mail with Entourage 2008 for Mac

 

Instructions for Entourage 2008

This service provides users with the ability to connect to their St. Cloud State University e-mail using the Entourage 2008 client. Entourage is Microsoft's email and Exchange client for Mac OS X and is available as part of the Microsoft Office 2008 suite.

In order for you to be able to use this service, your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Intel or PowerPC G4 500MHz processor (or higher)
  • 512MB RAM (or higher)
  • 1.5GB free hard disk space

Follow these steps to configure your computer:

  1. When you start Entourage 2008 for the first time you will be presented with the Account Setup Assistant. Alternatively go to the Entourage menu, select Account Settings..., and click on New.
  2. Enter your HuskyNet email address and select the checkbox labeled My account is on an Exchange server. Click the next arrow.

  3. You may see a message that says Entourage cannot automatically set up the account. Click the next arrow.

  4. Verify or enter your Name and HuskyNet email address. Enter the Exchange and LDAP server as shown below. Make sure to select the checkbox that says Use SSL fot these servers. Click the next arrow.

  5. Skip verifying your settings.

  6. Give the account a name such as "HuskyNet". Click Finish.

It may take serveral minutes to serveral hours, depending on the size of your mailbox and the speed of your connection, to sync Entourage with the Exchange server. This only needs to be done once after your account is setup.
