HuskyNet E-mail at SCSU
AcCessing E-Mail
Students
Incoming students can activate their HuskyNetID (username) online
and access e-mail as soon as they have registered for their classes. Access
is available as long as a student is continuously registered for courses
at SCSU.
Faculty and staff
New faculty and staff members can have their HuskyNetID
(username) activated once they have received their employee ID from Human
Resources. Faculty and staff should go to the HelpDesk in Miller Center
B43 (basement) and fill out a HuskyNetID request form.
Methods for Accessing HuskyNet e-mail
- Web-based E-mail Access
Web-based access to e-mail, contacts and calendars. Great for off-campus
access and for students living in the residence halls.
- Microsoft Outlook On Campus
On-campus access to e-mail, contacts and calendars in computer labs or
employee offices features a more robust look and feel than Web–based
access and many additional features.
- Microsoft Outlook Anywhere (for Off Campus)
Off-campus set-up of Outlook 2003 gives off-campus and residence hall
users e-mail almost identical to the Outlook on
campus.
- IMAP and POP3
Third party software access for e-mail only. Beneficial for users of
Linux or Unix systems or Windows or Macintosh users seeking a more
feature-rich remote client from home.
Note: If you use POP3 for your e-mail, we will no longer be
able to recover your e-mail files.
- PocketPC ActiveSync Users
Can synchronize their PocketPCs directly with the e-mail server, eliminating
the need to connect through their personal computer.
