Configuring HuskyNet E-mail
with Outlook Anywhere (Off Campus)
Instructions for Outlook 2007
This service provides users with the ability to connect to their St. Cloud
State University e-mail using the full Outlook client from off campus.
In order for you to be able to use this service, you must meet the following
requirements:
The computer you wish to access your e-mail from must be running Windows
XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista.
Outlook 2007 must be installed on the computer.
Follow these
steps to configure your computer:
Verify Outlook 2007 is shut down
and not running in your system tray.
From your Start menu, choose Microsoft Office
Outlook and right click on E-mail and choose Properties.
If e-mail is not listed here, look under the Control Panel open
the Mail icon.
Click
on "Show Profiles".
Click on "Add" to add a new profile
Name the new profile (example: SCSU Mail) and click "OK".
Now fill in your account information and click "Next".
The Outlook Configuration screen will appear. It will prompt you to allow the Website to configure your settings for you. Please click "Don’t ask me about this website again" and "Allow".
You will be prompted for your credentials. Enter your User name with stcloudstate\ before your HuskyNet ID as shown below:
A screen saying your e-mail account has been successfully configured will appear. Click "Finish".
Your newly created profile will show up in the "Choose Profile" window. Click "OK" to authenticate.
At this point Outlook will prepare your connection. Outlook will synchronize your messages with the server in the background while you work.
