Securely Accessing HuskyNet E-mail

For security reasons, SCSU recommends checking your HuskyNet E-mail via Outlook 2007 or Outlook Web Access (OWA).

Please note that unsecured IMAP and POP3 are not officially supported services at SCSU. If you choose to check your e-mail using POP3, we will be unable to recover your e-mail files if they are lost.

Clear Text vs. SSL

Some e-mail clients send your password over the network using 'clear text', which means that your password is not encrypted and could be viewed by anyone who wants to see it on the network. This is not recommended and poses a great security risk to your account.

By default, most e-mail clients do not encrypt your password, so it is a good idea to take a moment and make sure your settings are correct.
