Spam Solution FeaturesSpam QuarantineThe Quarantine holds messages that have been classified as spam and blocked from your mailbox. You can review them and release the ones that aren’t spam to your mailbox. Messages stay in the Quarantine for two weeks and then are permanently deleted. Daily DigestThe Digest is an e-mail message sent to you every day containing a list of messages placed in your Spam Quarantine since your previous Digest. You must sign up for to receive the Daily Digest. The method for signing up is listed under the Profile section of this page, but you can request an up-to-the-minute digest at any time from the Spam Solution site by logging in (upper right corner of this page) and clicking the Request Digest button at the top of your browser. Audit MessagesYou can choose to review messages that weren’t flagged as spam by signing up for the Spam Solution. After signing up, you will see an Audit Messages folder below your Quarantine folder. If you sign up, a copy of your e-mail for the past week that has NOT been classified as spam will be kept in this folder. If a spam message reached your mailbox, you will be able to go into this folder and report that message as spam. Clicking on the Report Spam link will automatically bundle all the needed information and send it to the appropriate people to update SCSU’s spam filter definition. The Save ButtonBe sure to click the save button every time you make a change in the Spam Solution Web site. You must save or your changes will not be kept. The button is located on the top navigation of the site. Using SCSU’s Spam SolutionQuarantineWhen you log into the SCSU Spam Solution Site, you will see your Spam Quarantine:
You will note the top navigation contains useful functions like Logout, add to Safelist, Report as Not Spam and Release to your mailbox. The top right-hand part of the screen lets you know how many messages are in your Quarantine. By clicking on a message, you will get a safe preview of the message contents without HTML encoding.
If you have signed up for the audit service at the link provided above, you can also switch between the Quarantine and your Audit Messages folder which lists external e-mail that was not flagged as spam. You can select messages to report as spam from the Audit Messages folder. ProfileClicking on Profile in the left navigation pane will bring you to your personal anti-spam settings. From this screen you can select the type of spam detection you would like to participate in and chose if you’d like a spam digest sent to you every weekday.
ListsThis section displays and lets you edit your personal Blocked and Safe Sender list. You can add an e-mail address or entire e-mail domain here to either list by selecting the appropriate list and clicking the New button.
