Running Updates for Macintosh OS X
Follow these instructions to run updates for your computer:
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
- Choose Software Update
from the View menu.
- Click Update Now.
- In the Software Update window, select the items you
want to install, then click Install.
- Enter an administrator account name
and password.
- After the update is complete, restart the computer if required.
- Repeat
these steps to see if more updates are now available. Because some software
updates are prerequisites for others, you may need to repeat these steps
several times to complete the software update sequence.
Scheduling Updates for Mac OS X
These are the steps for
scheduling automatic updates for your computer:
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
- Choose Software Update
from the View menu.
- Click the radio button for Automatically.
- Choose the interval you prefer
(daily, weekly, or monthly) from the Check for Updates pop-up menu.
- Close
the System Preferences window.
