Telephone outage

The phones on campus are down for any outbound/inbound calling. This issue is for all off-campus inbound and outbound calling. There is a problem with vendor related equipment and we are working to correct the issue.

  • Internal (on campus) calling is still available. Calling to and from the Twin Cities area is still operational.
  • If you need police, fire or rescue assistance, call 911 from you cell phone. Calling 911 from campus landlines will reach the St. Cloud State Public Safety dispatch.

Network Connectivity Issues

Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) to be installed

The Internet Explorer browser on all Windows computers will be upgraded to the Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) web browser through an automatic update on October 15. Many home computers and SCSU computers already use IE9, and this automatic update will bring the remaining machines up to the current version.  For more information on IE9, please visit http://huskynet.stcloudstate.edu/software/titles/IE9.asp

Connectivity Issues with some State of Minnesota web sites

Please be aware that certain State of Minnesota technology services are unavailable this morning . This includes self-service functions such as Pay Stub, W2, Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB), and any Web site ending with state.mn.us. The Office of Enterprise Technologies (OET) is currently working to resolve the issue.

Short (1 to 2 minute) network outages from 4am to 4pm on Sunday, March 11

Between 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012, the University of Minnesota will be performing a routine upgrade/configuration to MnSCU’s Internet access. During this time, there will be a series of short (1 to 2 minute) network outages affecting MnSCU campuses and enterprise applications.

Intermittent wireless access from 7:30am to 9:30am on Friday, March 9

SCSU will be upgrading the wireless system from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012. Due to this upgrade, wireless access at campus locations will be intermittently unavailable during this time.

Brief web site outages around 10:30am and 11am

We experienced two brief web site outages at around 10:30am and 11am this morning in which the following web sites were temporarily unavailable:

  • www.stcloudstate.edu
  • m.stcloudstate.edu
  • cmdln.stcloudstate.edu
  • lrts.stcloudstate.edu
  • software.stcloudstate.edu

The web sites are currently functioning. We do not anticipate any further issues. However, we will continue to monitor and communicate if any problems arise.

Planned Phone Outage, January 5

To all users of SCSU telephone services:

SCSU land line telephone services will be unavailable this Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm due to maintenance of equipment. This includes inbound, intra-campus, outbound, access to voicemail, blue light call boxes, elevator phones and “911” service. In an emergency, use a cellular telephone to dial emergency services or call the Public Safety Department’s unaffected emergency number at 320-980-0342.

SCSU technicians reserve the following window of time to perform routine maintenance to SCSU systems and services as needed.

  • Tuesdays from 5am to 7am
  • Sundays from 5am to 9am
