Using Your Analog Phone

The following features are available using your analog phone:

Internal: 5 Digit Extension Number (8 + old 4 digit extn.)
Main Information Line: 320-308-0121
Local: 9 + (7 or 10) Digit Number
Long Distance: 9 + 1 + Area Code + Number + current Access Code
Park Retrieval: *72 + 5 digit extension
Park Code Range: 100-119

Permanent Hold

Allows you to put a call on hold and block out background noise. It is like having a "Hold" button on your telephone.

To put a call on hold: (with the caller on the line)

  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant (caller on temporary hold; new dial
    tone)
  • Dial #4 (this creates the permanent hold state)
    NOTE: You may either hang up or set down the receiver. If you hang up,
    you hear held line reminder tones approximately every 60 seconds. If you set
    down the receiver, it becomes a visual reminder of held line status.

To take the caller off hold:

  • If you did hang up, lift the receiver and greet the caller
  • If you set it down, press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant and greet the caller.

Redial

Allows you to easily redial the last number dialed on the dialpad.

To redial:

  • Lift handset
  • Press Redial or Dial *89


Transfer

Allows you to send a call to another extension. The call can be transferred with
or without an announcement.

To transfer without an announcement: (caller on the line)

  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant (caller on Transfer hold; new dial tone)
  • Dial the extension to which the caller will be sent
  • Hang up to complete the transfer

To transfer with an announcement: (caller on the line)

  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant (caller on Transfer hold; new dial tone)
  • Dial the extension to which the caller will be sent; wait for an answer
  • Announce the transfer
    Note: (You can press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant to create a 3-way conference and advise the other parties to continue)
  • Hang up

Conference (6 Party)

Allows you to converse with up to five other people.

To add another party: (during a call)

  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant (caller on Conference hold; new dial tone)
  • Dial the party to be added (you have a private connection with them)
  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant when you are ready to connect all parties
    To add additional parties repeat these steps

Call Pickup

Allows you to answer, at your set, any call ringing to a phone in your group.

To respond (answer the call):

  • Lift handset
  • Dial *3

Call Pickup - Directed

Allows you to answer, at your set, any call ringing to a phone in any group.

To respond (answer the call):

  • Lift handset
  • Dial *95
  • Dial the extension number of the ringing phone you wish to answer

Ring Again

Allows you to contact an extension that is busy, or to reserve an outside line, if
if you have encountered a fast busy signal when placing an outgoing call.

To activate: (after hearing the regular or "fast" busy signal)

  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant (hear dial tone)
  • Dial *1 (hear dialtone)
  • Hang up

To respond: (after the Ring Again tones)

  • Lift handset (the number is automatically dialed for you)

Call Forward

Allows you to redirect your incoming calls to another extension. With voice mail you may forward your calls to the voice mail extension number: 85577.

NOTE: This does not affect your outgoing calls.

To forward:

  • Lift handset
  • Dial #1 (hear new dial tone)
  • Dial the extension number to which your calls should be forwarded
  • Hang up

To cancel the forward:

  • Lift handset
  • Dial #1 (hear new dial tone)
  • Hang up

Message Waiting Notification

You hear stutter dialtone when lifting your handset (or an indicator flashes to advise you of a new message.

To retrieve your message(s):

  • Lift handset
  • Dial your message center number
  • Retrieve message(s)

Call Park

Allows you to have the system hold a call that can be retrieved from any phone on the system. The call is parked against your extension number. If the call is not retrieved within 60 seconds, the call will ring back to the set that parked it.

To park:

  • Press the Switch hook, or its equvaliant (caller on Transfer hold; new dial tone)
  • Dial *71
  • Hang up

To retrieve:

  • Lift handset
  • Dial *72 plus your extension number

Speed Call

Allows you to program 10 frequently called numbers to your phone's memory.
Each number programmed must have a code assigned. A 10 number list uses
codes 0-9. See list on the last page.

To program (new or change):

  • Lift handset
  • Dial #2 (new dial tone)
  • Dial the Code you are programming then the number to be stored (include 9 for local; 9 plus 1 plus area code for long distance)
  • Hang up

To Call:

  • Lift handset
  • Dial #3
  • Dial the Code (i.e. 0 ) for the person/location you need
