Using Your Digital Phone

The following features are available using your digital phone:

Internal: 5 Digit Extension Number (8 + old 4 digit extn.)
Main Information Line: 320-308-0121
Local: 9 + (7 or 10) Digit Number
Long Distance: 9 + 1 + Area Code + Number + current Access Code
Park Retrieval: *72 + 5 digit extension
Park Code Range: 100-119

Line Keys

Allows access to the lines on your phone.

The lines available include:

  • Your Main Extension number/DID. The line that you will normally use to make and/or receive calls.
  • Your Overflow extension. Another line on which you may answer or place a call. Your calls land here when your main extension is in use.
  • Your Outdial extension. Another line on which you place a call. You will not receive calls on this line.

Other Line Keys

Allows you to monitor another person's telephone activity and/or answer calls in their absence. These lines may (or may not) ring at your telephone. These line keys may appear on your phone or on an expansion module.

Handsfree

Allows use of the speakerphone. Handsfree activates if a line key is pressed.

To make a call:

Press a line key and dial the number

To answer a call:

Press the line key and greet the caller

Handsfree to Handset:

Lift handset / converse

Handset to Handsfree:

Press Handsfree / hang-up handset / converse

To end a call:

Press Goodbye

Transfer

Allows you to send a call to an extension. The call can be transferred with or without an announcement.

To transfer: (during a call)

  • Press Transfer (caller on Transfer hold; new dial tone)
  • Dial the extension (You may wait for an answer and announce the transfer.)
  • Use Swap to switch between callers
  • Press Connect to send the call

To cancel the transfer: (return to the caller, take them off hold)

  • Press the line button next to the flashing icon

Conference (6 Party)

Allows you to converse with up to five other people.

To add another party: (during a call)

  • Press Conference (caller on Conference hold; new dial tone)
  • Dial the party to be added (a private connection with the called party)
  • Press Swap to switch between conference party and conferee
  • Press Connect when ready to connect all parties
    Repeat procedure to add other parties

NOTE: During set up, to cancel the currently dialed conferee, press the flashing line key and return to your original conferee(s).

Call Join

Allows you to conference two lines together; one caller is on hold and you are connected to the other.

To conference another line: (while connected to one caller)

  • Press Conference
  • Press the line key of the first held call
  • Press Connect

Redial

Records outgoing call numbers.

To access:

  • Press Redial soft key
  • Scroll up and down (using navigation keys) highlight desired number
  • Press Dial soft key (if the call was external press the Edit soft key and add the 9 which is necessary to make an outgoing external call)

Ring Again

Allows you to reach an extension that did not answer your call or was busy. The system will monitor the other extension, for activity, and signal you when your call
can be completed.

No Answer

To activate: (hearing ring – no answer or busy)

  • Press Ring Again (LCD on)

To respond: (after the Ring Again tones and flashing indicator)

  • Lift handset or press Handsfree
  • Press Ring Again

Call Forward

Allows you to redirect your incoming calls to another extension. You may
forward your calls to the voice mail extension number: 85577.

NOTE: This does not affect your outgoing calls.

To forward:

  • Press Forward
  • Dial the extension number to which your calls will be sent
  • Press Done soft key

To cancel forward:

  • Press Check FW then Cancel FW soft keys

To reinstate forward:

  • Press Forward
  • Press Done

Call Pickup

Allows you to answer, at your telephone, a call ringing to another phone in your own group.

To answer the call:

  • Lift handset (or press Handsfree)
  • Press Pickup (or dial *3)

Message

Allows you to auto dial to your message center.

To retrieve message(s):

  • Lift handset (or press Handsfree)
  • Press Message
  • Retrieve message(s)

Speed Call

Allows you to program 10 frequently called numbers to one key. Each number programmed is assigned a code. For a 10 number list the codes are: 0-9.

To program or change a number: (without lifting handset)

  • Press SpcCtlr (icon flashes)
  • Dial the 1 digit Code then the number to be stored (include 9 for external calls)
  • Press SpcCtlr (icon off) the code and number are saved

To call:

  • Lift handset (or press Handsfree)
  • Press SpcCtlr
  • Dial the Code (i.e. 0)

Last Number Redial

Allows you to easily redial the last number dialed on the dial pad.

To redial:

  • Press a Line Key twice
  • Lift handset (or continue in Handsfree mode)

Auto Dial

Allows you to program one frequently dialed number (local, long distance, or internal) so that you can dial the number by pressing the key.

To program: (without lifting the handset)

  • Press Auto Dial feature key (LCD flashes)
  • Dial the number to be stored (include 9 for external calls)
  • Press Auto Dial feature key to save number (LCD off)

To call:

  • Lift handset (or press Handsfree)
  • Press Auto Dial feature key

NOTE: Personalize the Auto Dials using "Change Feature Key Labels" in the Options list.

To name an autodial:

  • Press Options key
  • Scroll to Change Feature Key Label using navigation arrows
  • Press Select soft key
  • Highlight Change Feature Key Label
  • Press Select soft key
  • Press the feature key whose label you want to change
  • Using dial pad, spell out the label name
  • Press Done soft key
  • Press Quit key

Call Park

Allows the system to hold a call that can be retrieved by any telephone. The call is parked against your extension number or a system number if you have a
display. If the call is not retrieved within 60 seconds, the call rings back to the set that parked it. (With a display set you will see the park number of the
returning call.)

To park (with system numbers):

  • Press Park (Note the system number assigned in the display)
  • Press OK soft key (call Parked against the system number)

To park (against extension numbers):

  • Press Park
  • Dial the extension number
  • Press Park again

To retrieve a parked call:

  • Dial the system number, if used, or dial *72 plus the extension number against which the call was parked.
